Business was slow so we decided to go on a mini vacation trip! We went up to South Dakota. Here are the kids on the drive! They are all so cute! Love these kids!
The 1st night we stayed in Buffalo, Wyoming. That night for dinner we went to an Old Western Hotel and Saloon for dinner. It was restored to look exactly how it did back in the day! It was so awesome and fun looking at all the old stuff they still had! Here is a picture of Daniel and the kids.
Here is a picture of it back in the day!
You can't really tell by the 2 pictures but they really made it look so much like it use too. Even the hotel rooms looked the same. A bunch of famous people use to stay there too like Teddy Roosevelt, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and Calamity Jane.
The next morning we headed to South Dakota and went to Mount Rushmore. Daniel and I had both never been their and that's just one of those place you have to go to say you've been! It was so pretty on the drive there! It was rainy and foggy so when we got there the faces would go in and out of clouds but we still got some decent pictures. It was raining pretty good though so we went into the closest town and tried to find an umbrella but no luck but we did find these dorky ponchos. We looked so funny but hey it was better than getting soaking wet. It was pretty awesome! They have this walk around under Mount Rushmore and you can look and get all kinds of views of it. In one of the pictures you can see there was this rock cave thing you go in and look right up to George Washington's face.
I also thought it was cool that they carved glasses for Teddy Roosevelt, I never knew it had glasses marked into it!

After that we went and stayed in Custer, South Dakota. We wanted a nice Steak dinner that night and we went to this place that was so nasty. It looked really cool but it was crappy food. None of us ate much and so we went back to the Hotel and went swimming and got a bunch of snacks from the vending machine! The next morning we got up and ate and the kids went swimming again to pass time! We had scheduled a tour at Jewel Cave but it wasn't until noon. Jewel Cave is huge and it is the 2nd longest cave in the world. They are still discovering new places and it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. The tour was great! We had to carry Corbin the whole time so that was a little pain but over all it was an awesome experience! I just think it would be so cool the go exploring in there, too bad we had to stay on the paths with the tour! Here are some pictures of it! It is hard to see how cool it really was in them. There are all kinds of weird formations and stalagmites and crystals! There was this one weird one that looked exactly like a piece of bacon! The picture of it is the bigger one in the middle of the collage.
After the Cave we headed home! It was a short little trip but it was super fun!
